When natural disasters and extreme financial challenges occur, Jewish Children’s Regional Service does its best to find ways to assist any Jewish family with minor children who have been impacted. Based on our experiences with Hurricanes Katrina and Rita, and multiple floods in Louisiana and Texas, our help has proven most effective weeks, months and years after the disasters occurred. Examples of help we have provided include national retailer gift cards, basic household items, and payment of necessary expenses for children.
JCRS has established a Disaster Relief Program that helps affected families over the long term, and in many cases, after the immediate help has stopped.
